I had the pleasure of working with Roger in the early 1990's when we worked together at Chesapeake General Hospital. I remember the last time I saw him I was in St. Louis at Six Flags we both laughed and thought what a small world. He will surely be missed in the Respiratory community! My thoughts and prays are with all of yall during this tragic time.

Roger was one of those guys you remember as a kid that you looked up too. He was allot of fun and all of us little kids thought he was great. He always seem to have a way of showing us the positive side with an encouragement of direction. My last vivid memories of him were mostly with BSA Troop 43 where I had some of the best of times. I owe that all to the Pettitt family for introducing me to Troop and Roger for driving me to the Scout meetings in the old Ford Mustang. He was by far the best big brother any kid could wish for. All the right skills, talent, athletic, and a sense of humor. Sorry to see him go.
Sincerely,
Kevin N. Barnes ,former neighbor of 40 Patton Drive.

I find out that my best friend from my youth has now left us
I can not fathom how his father, wife and children feel, only to say I never knew a better man and friend
After 50 years of friendship - I still have not met anyone I respected more
I only wish that after we were 25 or so, I would have made more of an effort to keep valued friends close. As we all should think about doing.
more later - I am sad

Wendi & Family--
I just heard the sad news and wanted you to know how sorry I am for your loss. When I worked with "Dr. P", he was always friendly, compassionate, a true gentleman. The staff and patients loved him. I was lucky enough to visit with him a few times after we both left Churchland; and I'm so glad that I did. He is remembered with great affection and an appreciation for the great man that he was.

Please except my heartfelt condolences at this tragic time. I have had the pleasure of knowing Roger since the early 1990s when we worked together at Chesapeake General Hospital. Throughout the years, we have seen each other at various RT functions and we always took a few moments to reminisce and talk of work and our families. I know from speaking with Roger that he was so proud of his children and their accomplishments. He always spoke so wonderfully of his home life and plans for his family's future. His love for his family was apparent in every word he spoke.
He will be missed by those that were blessed to have known him.
