Lillian Middleton Obituary

Lillian P. Middleton NORFOLK - Lillian Pavone Middleton, 86, of the 8200 block of Tabor Court, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2009, at a local hospital. Born in Plattsburgh, N.Y., to the late Henry and Natalia Pavone, Lillian was the widow of Ralph Kay Middleton Jr. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Lillian is survived by a daughter, Kathi S. Middleton of Norfolk; three sons, Mark B. Middleton and wife Jan of Carlisle, Pa., Clifton K. Middleton and wife Denise of Smithfield, Va., and David S. Middleton of Jersey City, N.J.; two brothers, Julius S. Pavone of Peru, N.Y., and Arnold Pavone of Plattsburgh, N.Y.; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a companion, Roland R. Young of Norfolk. A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Forest Lawn Cemetery with Father Joseph H. Metzger III officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 to 7 p.m. at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel. Memorials, in lieu of flowers, may be made to American Heart Association, 500 Plume St. East, Norfolk, VA, 23510. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com.

Sorry to hear of the loss of a wonderful person. Lil was a beautiful lady and will be missed. Lil was very creative and we will treasure her 'bag ladies' forever.

Our prayers and thoughts are with her many family members and friends.

May I extend my condolences.

When we were growing up she and my mom (Jeanne DiFulvio) were very close friends, to the point that we all knew her as "Aunt Lil".

I am so sorry to hear of Aunt Lil's passing. Words just can't express. She was a very wonderful woman, and the best godmother any child could ask for. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. I will cherish every memory I have of her time in Plattsburgh when I was growing up.

I'm so very sorry to hear of Lil's passing. She was a good friend and loving "grandma" to my son James for many years. She will be truly missed.
