John Atwood Obituary

John Edward Atwood CHESAPEAKE - John Edward Atwood, 73, passed away Aug. 28, 2009. He was a longtime employee for C&P Phone Company before working for civil service in communications. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Jane Atwood; his sons, Floyd Elliott and wife Lydia and David Elliott; his brother, Robert Atwood and wife Dolly; his sister, Velma Martin and husband John; and several other relatives including grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Rosewood Memorial Park, Virginia Beach. The family will receive friends Monday between 7 and 8:30 p.m. at Kellum Funeral Home, Rosewood Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 360 Southport Circle, Suite 104, Virginia Beach, VA 23452 or to the Friends of Virginia Beach Animal Control at www.beachpetpals.org.
