Joan Clarke Obituary

Joan H. Clarke EDENTON - Joan Helen Clarke, 71, died Friday, Sept. 11, at her residence in Edenton. She was born June 9, 1938, in Norfolk, and was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. James Campbell Clarke and Helen Blair Clarke, and siblings, Dr. James H. Clarke, Jeffrey Clarke and Jean Clarke. Joan is survived by a daughter, Kimberly Copeland and fiancé Richard Thrift; sons, Richard Copeland Jr. and wife Pamela of Virginia Beach, Robert Krajenke Jr. of Michigan, and Paul Storberg Jr. of Virginia; her sisters, Judy Clarke of Corapeake, N.C., and Jane Marsh of Greensboro, N.C.; and her brothers, Dr. Jack Clarke and wife Kit of St. Petersburg, Fla., Dr. J. Campbell Clarke and wife Grace of Charlottesville, Dr. Jerry Clarke and wife Susan of Virginia Beach, and Joseph Clarke and wife Debbi of Wellington, Fla. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Stephanie and Frank Mojica of Los Angeles, Felicia and Luna Storberg of Norfolk, Amanda Krajenke of Michigan, and Michael and Luke Copeland of Virginia Beach. Joan was a former model, a published author, artist, and a free spirit and trendsetter. She will be greatly missed and thought of often by her family, her friends from all over the world and the many stray animals and lost souls that she rescued over the years. Family and friends will gather Sunday, Sept. 27, at 2 p.m. at the home of Joan's brother in Virginia Beach. Please contact [email protected] or (757) 428-3477.
