Raymond Chapman Obituary

Raymond Lee Chapman VIRGINIA BEACH - Raymond Lee Chapman, 57, passed away at home with his loving family by his side on Monday, Sept. 28, 2009. He was the son of Shelby and Colleen Chapman of Chesapeake. Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 22 years, Susan; his sons, Shane and Stephen; his daughters, Kelly and Ruth; and a brother, Mike. Ray worked in grocery business most of his life, lastly working at Walmart five years as a sales associate. Ray was a wonderful husband, father and friend. Ray loved the Lord and graduated from Rhema Bible Training Center in Oklahoma. Through the years, he served as an elder, minister, children's pastor, missionary to India, prayer group leader, and inner city outreach leader. He enjoyed reading, playing golf and tennis, and especially loved the ocean and mountains. A memorial service to celebrate Ray's life will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Deaf Missionary Church/Victory Worship International, 3520 Johns St., Norfolk, VA 23513 with Pastor George Ramirez officiating. The family will receive friends after the memorial service in the church fellowship hall. Memorial donations may be made to Gideon's Bible in Ray's name.
