Gloria Hagans Tolentino VIRGINIA BEACH - Gloria Hagans Tolentino, 81, passed away Oct. 20, 2009. She was born Oct. 31, 1927 to the late Virgie and Eddie Hagans in Norfolk and was predeceased by her husband, Eddie Tolentino Jr. Gloria was a 1944 graduate of Booker T. Washington High School where she was valedictorian of her class and a 1947 graduate of Hampton Institute. She received her master's degree from Hampton Institute in 1972. Gloria retired as an educator with Norfolk Public Schools in 1988. A member of the Basilica of St. Mary's of the Immaculate Conception, she served in the Women's Club, was an Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist and was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America. She was also a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Norfolk Alumnae Chapter and a charter member of the Hampton Institute Chapter. She is survived by two daughters, Gloria Angela and Trina Yvette; two sons, the Rev. Monsignor Eddie Tolentino III and Antonio Domingo (Lavera); eight grandchildren; relatives and friends. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Basilica of St. Mary's of the Immaculate Conception, 232 Chapel St. Interment will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Norfolk.
