Edith Bray Obituary

Edith S. Long Bray NORFOLK - Edith S. Long Bray, 89, died Oct. 31, 2009, at Sentara Leigh Memorial Hospital. She was a daughter of the late E. Ballard and Julia Hutcherson Shelton. She was also preceded in death by her husbands, Chester B. Long and Edwin Bray; her son and daughter-in-law, Perry E. and Lois S. Long; and her great-grandson, Tyler Long. She was a lifelong member of the Talbot Park Baptist Church. Surviving are her son, Chester B. Long Jr. and his wife Nancy of Virginia Beach; her brothers, J. Otha Shelton of Chatham, Va., Kessler Shelton of Chester, Va.; her grandchildren, Lori Beth Long, Cari Ann Hall and her husband David, Darren Bruce Long and his wife Nicole, Holly Elizabeth Long and Jennifer Winn; her great- grandchildren, Peyton Hall, Paige Hall and Gracen Long. A memorial service will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3, in Talbot Park Baptist Church with the Rev. Keith Martin officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Norfolk, prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Talbot Park Baptist Church, 6919 Granby St., Norfolk, a charity of your choice. Chester Nancy; Lori, Darren, Carrie & family
Our Thoughts and Prayers are with each of you as you celbrate her life.
"Mrs LONG" as I have called her for many years, although she was married to MR Bray for 26 years, will be greatly missed. Her love of her family and friends will never be forgotten.
I will never forget some of the great times our families have had together.
