Estelle Catherine Hall CHESAPEAKE - Estelle Catherine Hall, 77, passed away Friday, Nov. 6, 2009, in her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Norfolk Dec. 29, 1931, the daughter of the late John Cherry and Herman and Catherine Stakes. Estelle was a grandmother and great-grandmother to everyone she knew. She enjoyed being around her family and friends which brought her great joy. She is survived by her three children, Michael L. Smith and Bonnie J. Armstrong, both of Chesapeake, and Cindy Morris and husband Phillip of Poplar Branch, N.C. Also surviving are her three sisters, Jackie A. Smith, Betty J. Kreuger and Susan Brewer; two brothers, Herman J. Stakes and Donnie R. Stakes; her nine grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. A funeral will be conducted today, Nov. 11, at 11 a.m. in the Great Bridge Chapel of Oman Funeral Home & Crematory, 653 Cedar Road, Chesapeake. Interment will follow in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. Minister Matthew Stakes will officiate. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. today at the funeral home.
