Emma Blanchard Obituary

Emma R. Blanchard NORFOLK - Emma R. Blanchard died Friday, Nov. 27, 2009. She was the wife of the late James H. Blanchard Jr. of Norfolk. She is the mother of two sons, James H. Blanchard III of Norfolk and Gary P. Blanchard of The Villages, Fla., and a daughter, Nancy E. Hamburger of The Villages. Emma has three grandchildren, Todd Blanchard, Eric Henrikson and Mark Henrikson, and six great-grandchildren. Emma retired from the Norfolk City Police Department. She was a member of the Ocean View Presbyterian Church, a member of The Ocean View Chapter No. 34 of The O.E.S, The Daughters of the Nile Order No. 127, and the Order Bouruants of Norfolk. A graveside service will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery Saturday, Dec. 5, at 11 a.m. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, is handling the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, it is the wish of the family that if one wishes, please send a donation to your favorite charity.

Nancy, I worked 2 desks away from Emma, from 1970-1975. We had a lot of fun times together, such a sweet lady. She spoke of you often. My prayers are with you & your family.
