C. Jones Obituary

C. Earl Jones PORTSMOUTH - Clifton Earl Jones, 74, of Upshur Place, died Dec. 7, 2009 in a Portsmouth hospital. A native of Kinston, N.C., he was a retired chief petty officer in the U.S. Navy and also retired from Craney Island as a fuel technician. Survivors include his wife, Rachel T. Jones; two sons, Alexx Jones of Virginia Beach and Jason Jones and wife Sarah of Corning, N.Y.; three stepdaughters, Theresa Oakey and husband Robert of Chocowinity, N.C., Margaret Speight and husband Randy of Powhatan, and Rose Olson of Portsmouth; three stepsons, Ralph Olson and wife Patty of Chesapeake, David Olson and wife Robin of Williamsburg, and Robert Olson and wife Glenda of Camden, N.C.; 15 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. A funeral will be held Thursday, Dec. 10, at 11 a.m. in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel. Burial with military honors will follow in Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. www.SturtevantFuneralHome.com.

Rachael I am so sorry to hear about this. I don't know why I decided to check out the obits but I am glad I did.I will miss Earl as I do miss you. Sorry we have not had much contact but you have all ways been an important person to me.
