The Frischkorn Family has lost a Great Co-worker and Friend. I did not work in the same office with Jim but got to know him very well through the years. Once in a while when ever he would come to Wilmington he would take some time to come by the office to say Hello. He will be truely missed by all who knew him.

I had the opportunity to meet Jim about 10 years ago when I began umpiring the Little League All Star tournaments. Jim never hesitated to give me advice during our time together and always brought a smile to my face with his never ending humor. He will truly be missed by all of us in the umpiring community who had the privilege to know and work with him. God bless the Griffin family during this time.

I'm so sad to hear of Jim's passing. Even though I left the Frischkorn family 10 years ago, I thought of him often, and enjoyed the "Christmas card" letters he would send me around March or May! He could always put a smile on my face when I was having a difficult day, and he was generous with his kindness. My prayers are with you, Patsy, and all of Jim's family and friends. He will be greatly missed.

Jim was a great friend and like a brother. We were both Little League and
high school umpires together for many
years. I was always encouraged by his
cheerful but no nonsense attitude toward the game of life. He always had
a good word for everyone and could tell
a constant stream of comedic jokes. I
will miss him, and Patsy and Ryan I know you will too. May God bless you in
His love during these trying times. If
you need anything just call out His name.

I only knew Jim through Fletcher and our monthly Oyster Roasts. He always had a smile on his face and a cheerful disposition. We will surely miss him.

I had the pleasure of getting to know Jim from golfing in several of the Myrtle Beach Feb. golf trips. He had a way with words! Such a fun loving, upbeat, and jovial fellow. Always good for a laugh and the kind of guy that even though I only had a few encounters with over the years, I will never forget! My thoughts and my prayers are with the Griffin family in this time.

Patsy and Ryan,
It is with deepest regret that I send this to you. Jim was a friend and good umpire for me at several state tournaments over many years. He will be missed by all who knew him. His sense of humor and ready smile were always there when anyone needed a lift. I will miss him as I know you will.

I was fortunate enough to have known Jim for many years, and had the pleasure of umpiring countless games with him over that time.
When I think of Jim I can’t help but smile; he was just that kind of person. He always had a funny joke or story, and enjoyed a good laugh. He was a good umpire, a good friend and proud father and husband.
I truly enjoyed being in his company and I will certainly miss him.
Ryan and Patsy my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this most difficult time.

I am so sorry to hear of Jim's passing. I always enjoyed his company when he made sales calls on me at the Navy Base. He always spoke about Ryan and baseball and of course had a joke to tell. I will miss him.

Dear Patsy and Ryan,
I am very sorry for your loss. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. I always looked forward to working with Jim when I made my regular trips to Hampton. It always meant a full day of great calls, talking about one of our shared passions (baseball!) and of course- lots of laughs from funny and interesting stories that Jim would tell about life, business, umpiring and family. He was just a joy to be around. I will miss him.
Sincerely,
Kevin Smith

I had the fortunate opportunity to meet Jim along the Little League Baseball Umpire Tournament "circuit" and can honestly say I am a better man and umpire for it! He had the gift to make a dark situation brighter by injecting humor and laughter just at the right time. Jim, you will be missed by all of your associates in the Virginia State Little League Umpire Association.

Working with Jim was nothing short of a sheer pleasure. He was always someone who could make me laugh and he always had a great story to share. I welcomed the times he came to the office and took the time to visit with me. I appreciate the effort he put into making sure we were a happy customer and anything you asked him for he did his best to supply. He will be forever in my thoughts and prayers as will you Patsy and your son. I will definitely miss "JIM" as I was told time and time again NOT to call him Mr. Griffin as it made him feel old!!
Sincerely,
Amy Pace

Patsy and Ryan,
I am so sorry. Jimmy was a true friend, he never let you down and was always there when you needed him. That red hair was a perfect reflection of his fiery loyalty and upbeat personality.
We shared the same neighborhood, schools, and friends, and I consider myself fortunate to have known him and his family.
Patsy and Ryan, my prayers are with you and I thank Jimmy for being one of the best friends I could have ever had and one of the best people I've ever known.
My deepest sympathy and love to you all.
Gary Lawson.

Patsy and Ryan,
The world is a better place because Jimmy lived so well, made everyone he met laugh and gave so much of himself to his community.
We are sure he has met and been welcomed by his maker and told him a joke already.
Jimmy was a special person who will always be remembered.
With love and sympathy,
