I was on shore drive when the scene was being cleaned up. And my heart dropped to my stomach. My thoughts and prayers are with your family. I drive past the white bike everyday and im still saddened by the outcome of the accident. Im sorry for your loss!

My thoughts and prayers are with the entire family during their MAJOR loss. Dan and I worked together at McKim & Creed in Virginia Beach. We spent many lunch hours telling stories about his 2 boys and my 3 children. He was such a loving, caring, generous person. He really loved his boys and only wanted the best for them. He often shared his experience, strength and hope about living life to the fullest. I know that Dan would want us to celebrate his life and share stories of what a down to earth and wonderful guy he was. My oldest daughter was so happy that Dan took time out of his busy schedule to come to her softball playoff games. Dan I sure will miss our conversations. I know I will see you again. The world will not be the same with you not in it. I will miss his smile, laughter, jokes, music and advice. My God grant the family peace and comfort thought out this difficult time.

Words cannot express what a wonderful person Dan. He was genuine and caring, and brought joy to many of our conversations. We told each other stories, shared music, and food. We were even part of his adventures in Costa Rica with the boys (and no, we didn’t go). That’s what a family does and we were family.
Lastly, and I know I don’t have to say this, but his sons were the best part of his life. He loved them SO much and so proud of them.
Dan will be missed and never forgotten.

I had the pleasure of working with Dan and getting to know him while he was at McKim & Creed. I especially enjoyed the times when the two of us were sent out of town to work in other offices which allowed us time for relaxing conversations over a long dinner. Good food was definitely something we shared an interest in.
I will always remember him as a well grounded person who had a real insight as to what was important in life. His two sons were and always will be at the top of that list. He shared quite a few stories about them and it was truly evident how proud he was of them both. He definitely treasured the time he spent with them.
I will always remember Dan with fond memories. He will be missed.
