Dad,
From the minute you left this world I was so happy for you. It was hard to see the pain and agony you had to go through over the last year. You could no longer enjoy the things you loved most in life....taking walks with Shammie, working outdoors in the lawn / garage, running around on the football field / volleyball court or going to Church to name just a few. Though you (and Mom) are physically gone from the world we live in, we still see you both in everthing we do. We saw you in the faces of all the wonderful people who attended your Memorial mass. We see you in all the cards/donations that were received from many others. We'll continue to see you....especially on those crisp autumn (football) days or throwing down a handful of raspberries or just attending mass. Ya see.....we can no longer hold you with our hands or arms but we can hold you (and Mom) with all our heart and soul. You had a great life and you lived it faithfully and to the Max! Until we're all together again....
Love ya,
Mike

My grandpa was the best man I will ever know and I am lucky to have had 22 wonderful years with him but I wish I could have had 22 more. As everyone agrees if only everyone could be a little more like him, the world would be a better place.

Pop-pop,
I will miss you, your smile, and your stories. The only thing that makes this a little easier is that I know you are complete again. Kiss Mi-Mi for me and I hope to see you in my dreams. I miss you with all of my heart and love you-forever
see you down the road <3

Ed's family...
As anyone can tell by the memorials for your dad he was truly loved and will be missed by many. He was one of the best people we have had the opportunity to know even for a short time. He was always there for everyone. I can just imagine what a great "dad" he was, just thinking of him and his smile brings a smile to my face. In my family's hour of sadness when our parent's passed on he had wonderful things to say which lighten our sorrow for a moment. God surely has another bright gem in His crown. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time.

To all the family of Ed O,Neil:
What a guy he was. He worked with Hank at IBM and on the day of our wedding he showed up with his camera in tow, and took pictures of the day. Met him several times thru-out our busy lives and he always acted as if he had just seen us yesterday. Hank and I celebrated our 50th anniversary a couple of years ago and sure enough, a few days after it appeared in the paper, we received a pile of plastic protected copies from Ed with a lovely note from him. He was indeed a rare find and how lucky you all were to have had him in your lives. We are sure that he has marched straight thru the gates of heaven. God bless.

Know that your Dad touched so many lives, more than you can even imagine. May he be at peace now that he is with your Mom and free from pain. He will forever be in my thoughts and prayer.

My Dearest Dad,
I was proudest when when anyone mentioned how they knew you and how much they liked you (which was a lot). Some are happy to have a father, we had a Dad!

I will always cherish the last words we spoke to each other the night before you drifted away - I said "I Love You". And even when you barely had enough breathe - you said "I Love You - You're a Good Son". It was soft - but I heard it loud and clear. And we kissed.

We were lucky to have such great role models like you and Mom. We can only hope to be 1/2 as much for our children.

Give Mom a kiss for me. I LOVE YOU BOTH.

Your Loving son -

From all the McDonnell's of Dickson Street to the O'Neils of Main Street - what great parents Faye and Ed were and what a great family foundation they provided; what great children Mike, Kathy, Lauri, and Bill have always been and will be; and what an outstanding model of a "Family" your family provides for all to see. And needless to say, Ed was the Cornerstone !

My deepest sympathy to the entire family. Ed was a wonderful, cherished friend personally and also at our office, where he was a regular patient-he never came empty handed and always with a smile. His reward in now within reach, and he will have many stars in his crown. God bless all whose life was touched by this marvelous man. You will be missed my Irish friend.

Ed was one of those rare people that you meet and become great friends with. He always had a positive word for everyone and everything. He symbolized how sportsmanship should be. I had not talked to Ed in many years, but I still can recall many wonderful discussions we had together. Our condolences to the family in the lost of a great man.
