Aldo Anthony Rossi Jr.
"BIG AL"
of Binghamton
Aldo A. Rossi Jr., 42, died July 27, 2008 in the line of duty in Port Dickinson while serving the community. Aldo was born on February 12, 1966. He was predeceased by his mother, Sheila in 1997. Aldo is survived by his loving wife, Renee' (Willerton) Rossi; his father, Aldo Rossi Sr., Ariz.; two sisters, Aldeana Rossi, Nev., Sherry Rossi, Binghamton; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Rick Rossi, Binghamton, Jason and Christina Rossi, Nichols, N.Y., Michael and Andrea Rossi, Candor, N.Y.; father-in-law, Ken Willerton, Binghamton; mother-in-law, Marie Bundy, Binghamton; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Rory and Justin Broome, N.C., Rachel and Will Baumgartner, Binghamton; and Maggie Bundy; special aunt and uncle, Rikki and Leonard Robilotti; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; also his special friend who he held dear to his heart, his dedicated employee, George Harris. Aldo was a graduate of Binghamton High School and the Otsego County Law Enforcement Academy. He was employed by the Port Dickinson and Deposit Police Departments. Aldo received a Citation for his work in narcotics investigations. He was also the proud owner of Budget Auto Glass in Binghamton and Ft. Myers, Fla. On Sunday, July 27th Renee' and Aldo's families lives were changed forever. Aldo was the most dedicated and loving husband, son, brother, friend and Police Officer. His love of life and willingness to help anyone in need were qualities that endeared him to anyone who met or knew him. There was never a person Aldo ever met that has not walked away with a warm feeling about who he was as a person. On Tuesday, July 29, 2008, Renee' walked with Aldo to his last act of heroism in donating his organs so that his big heart will continue to beat on this earth. Ciao.
Funeral Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 2, 2008, at St. Mary of the Assumption with Fr. Daniel M. Caruso officiating. The family will welcome friends at the Savage Funeral Home, 338-344 Conklin Ave., Binghamton, N.Y. 13903, Friday, August 1, 2008, from 1 to 5 p.m. Interment with Full Honors will be in Calvary Cemetery. So I had pulled of the side of the road and was taking a picture of the sign naming the highway after you, and a Port Dick patrol car rolls up.... I'm thinking ..."great, I'm going to get a ticket..." and as I'm walking toward the car, Dominic gets out! Look what you started :) He does you proud, Aldo. I spent some time with Renee, she really needs you to find some way to guide her right now. I worry that she is losing her will, she (like so many) draws her strength from you. If you can find some way to bridge the hereafter.... Aunt Rikki is not doing very well either. She could really use a dream visit from you and your angels. You will always be an inspiration. The funniest thing happened to me today. I was speeding on vestal pkwy (didn't realize it!) didn't have my drivers license, registration or insurance cards- and the police officer let me go. He had Aldo's smile. I know Aldo was watching over me- I had everything going against me....He truly is a guardian angel. Thanks Aldo!

Today I went to my mothers grave and decided to stop by Aldo's and was competely saddened and touched to see that Renee's name was added. It is such a true statement of love and commitment that she has for him (and vise-versa I'm sure). I just want you to know Renee - Aldo would want you to be happy - he was so fun and full of life- he would never want you to be living in the past - you truly were Mrs. Aldo Rossi JR.- the one and only!!! I only hope you find happiness again someday- you were truly a treasure that any man would have been honored to have! I'm so glad Aldo found you. And I'm so sorry for your loss.

I recognized your picture in the paper. I knew you many years ago from Elegant Nails. Lori Richardson Johnson was my dear friend who worked there with you. She passed away in 2002. We all use to have so much fun in there. I was so sorry to see this tragic accident in the news. You were always so sweet & it looks like you had found happiness & it is a shame you had to lose it so quick. Aldo was a man's man, and a friend's friend. I loved him like my own soul. Everyone who knew Aldo knew that he was a man of his word, and you could always rely on him to get the job done. He lived a wonderful life, full of service to others, and full of very close relationships with those fortunate to know him.
Aldo was always there when you needed him, a good friend, especially when the chips were down. I could ring him up on the Nextel walkie-talkie any time I needed him with a "Big Al" alert!

Renee and entire Rossi family, my condolences to you all. My thoughts and prayers to you all and to all of us that truely knew Aldo. I grew up with Aldo, and have so many memories. Even recently he would still come see me at work, "just to say hi and touch base". The Aldo smile will never be forgotten and neither will his words since the days of high school. He will always be with us. And it is the memories that we hold so dear that will get us through now. Aldo will be very much missed. Even now, I still wait for him to walk in at work just to get a smile and that hello.

Dear Renee and the Rossi Family: Aldo was a friend of mine while in College back 20 years ago. He was ALWAYS the sweetest, fun loving friend anyone could ask for. I was so happy to meet you when Aldo brought you to Las Vegas. Aldeana and I knew then that you must be someone very special if he was bringing you to meet us…we all went out as a family and I will forever cherish that time we had. My mother (Aunt Rikki) fell in love with you and she talked of you and Aldo in almost every conversation we had.
When I was here last month with my mother during her critical illness, you welcomed me into your home like no one ever has. I felt instantly relieved when you and Leanna were there to pick me up at the airport. I smiled at the nonchalant way you handed me the key to Aldo’s car and the sincere offer of any help if I needed it. While I drove his car to and from the hospital, so many people waved to me, probably thinking I was you, must be the blond thing :) I was able to return home after my mother was on the road to recovery because I knew that you and Aldo would be watching over her.
The car out of the garage, the keys to the house, the shirt off his back and now the heart from his chest….Aldo unselfishly gave of himself to anyone in need. It is comforting to know that Aldo has now given the precious gift of life to others. I can only imagine the sacrifice you had to make for that to happen.
My brother and I always thought of Aldo and Deana more like siblings, not just cousins. Aldo did not have an easy childhood, lesser men have not overcome the obstacles Aldo found in his path …….when he crossed your path his whole life changed in that instant. Witnessing the love you had for each other is an inspiration to me, I am so proud of the man Aldo became. He loved you more than anything in this world. My sorrow is eased knowing his spirit will live on because of the love you have for him. Thank you Renee, for loving my cousin.

My two sons and I watced the funeral procession near the Oakdale Mall. I felt the presence of God.We weren't suppossed to be where we were . God gave us the chance to pray for you . My son worked with Aldo in Deposit. Aldo had words of wisdom that he passed onto my daughter and son in law when the rented off him. I had the pleasure of meeting him many times. Please except my deepest sympathy, my brother was also killed by a drunken driver. I house sat in Port Dick a few times and felt safe knowing that Aldo was on duty. I know how hard it is to lose someone that is so near and dear to you and causes you alot of pain on the inside and outside, but you must always remember the good times with Aldo and how much he loved his family and all the people that he helped. My deepest sympathy to you all on this tragic loss. I believe I do remember Aldo a little from high school as one of the nice guys.
Of course there are no words that can ease the pain, but I hope you can take some comfort from the fact that Aldo was apparently highly respected and well loved, judging by this guest book.
