Sally Gunderman Wall
of Tupelo
Mrs. Sally Gunderman Wall, 70, died Monday, August 4, 2008, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. She was born July 17, 1938, in Barton, New York, the daughter of the late Virgil and Dorothy Hudson Gunderman. Before becoming disabled she worked for Security Mutual Insurance Company in Binghamton, New York. She lived her whole life in New York and moved to Tupelo 3 weeks ago to be near her family. She was an avid reader and a member of the Red Hat Society in Endicott, New York but her greatest love was for her daughter and her grandchildren. Survivors include her daughter, Lisa Hartigan (Kevin), Tupelo; grandchildren, Matthew, Timothy and Lucas Hartigan; her brothers, Bill Gunderman (Janice), Pawleys Island, S.C., Tom Gunderman, Little Meadows, Pa.; nephews, Tony Borruso, Joe Borruso, Mark Crane; caregiver and friend, Agnes Hartigan, Binghamton; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; her twin sister, Sandra Borruso; brother, Richard Gunderman.
A Prayer Service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at the Tupelo Chapel of Holland-Harris Funeral Directors with Father Benjamin Martinez officiating and a eulogy by Agnes Hartigan. Burial will follow in Tupelo Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Rudy Kasimakis, Jerry Holt, W.T. Rial, James Johnson, Roger Nichols and Brian Dudley. Visitation will be 10 - 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Mississippi Arthritis Foundation, 1060 East County Line Road, Suite 3 A-222, Ridgeland, Miss. 39157. Dear Lisa and Kevin,
I was so sorry to hear of your Mom's passing, but very glad to hear that she was with you for the last few weeks. What a wonderful woman, I have the most wonderful memories of our childhood thanks to both our moms. I smile when I think of them. She will always have a special place in my heart.
