Eileen McNamara Obituary
of Binghamton
Eileen J. (Heslin) McNamara died at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Thursday, October 2, 2008. She was predeceased by her husband of 47 years, Raymond J. McNamara; and also by her fiancee, John E. Sluznis, who passed away on September 30, 2008. The daughter of the late Edward J. and Mary K. (Cooney) Heslin, she was also predeceased by her sister, Kathleen Hahn Collett; and brothers, James S. (Red) Heslin, and Edward Robert Heslin. Survived by her daughter, Janet Haseley; sons, John C. Hahn, David R. McNamara and Michael J. McNamara; eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; her sister, Mary Patricia Fox; three brothers, Eugene J. Heslin, Michael P. Heslin, and Thomas B. Heslin; her brother-in-law, Walter J. McNamara; also several nieces, nephews, cousins, and her family in Ireland. She was a graduate of Binghamton State Hospital School of Nursing and was a homemaker. Her memberships include St. Paul's Church, LAOH, Division II.
Funeral Services will be held at McDevitt Brothers Funeral Home, 88-90 Front St., Binghamton, on Tuesday at 9:15 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul's Church, Chenango St., where a Funeral Mass will be offered. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday, from 4 - 7 p.m. Memorial contributions in her name can be made to Lourdes Hospital Foundation, 169 Riverside Dr., Binghamton, N.Y.

The McNamara's of Hawaii send out our condolences to everyone in the McNamara and Heslin families on the loss of Nini . We all loved her for her passion and zest for life and will miss her ! I am sorry for the loss of your sister, mother & grandmother. I find that the memories of all the times together help immensely to get you through. My thoughts and prayers are with you. My grandfather was Martin Cooney and my parents, John and Catherine Cooney. I'm sure they were all there to welcome Eileen into Heaven.
