Marie Newcomer Carson fell asleep in the arms of Jesus, her Savior, Sunday, October 5th, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Rex and Darlene Baker. Marie lived the majority of her life in the Waynesboro, Pa. area. Before moving to the Windsor, N.Y. area at the age of 89 years, she resided at 35 Cleveland Ave. Marie celebrated her 96th birthday on September 22, 2008. She was born in Franklin Co., Pa. and is the daughter of the late Theodore and Susan (Shockey) Newcomer. She was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Raymond L. Carson; and by their son, Edward F. Carson. Surviving her are son, Marlin L. (Ace) Carson; daughter and son-in-law, Darlene (Rex) Baker; and her daughter-in-law, Betty (Harbaugh) Carson, The Villages, Fla. Marie is also survived by grandchildren, Jeffrey (Denise) Carson, Colorado Springs, Colo., Cathy (Carson) Field, Huntersville, N.C., Scott (Lucy) Baker, Windsor, N.Y., Stanley (Rhonda) Baker, Binghamton, N.Y., and Stephanie Baker, Endicott, N.Y. Great-grandchildren are Tyler, Steven, and Katie Carson, Timothy Field, Shane, Sherree, and Shannon Baker, and Samantha Baker. Also surviving is her sister, Zella Newcomer Towle; sister-in-law, Lucille Smith; and special niece, Saundra Staines (Dan) Biss; and numerous other nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held for Marie at the West Windsor Baptist Church on Thursday evening, October 9, at 7 p.m. Her grandson, Rev. Stan Baker, will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Abilities Unlimited of the Carolinas, c/o Robert M.
