Robert Jenkins Obituary
of Owego
Robert E. Jenkins, 80, of Owego, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 7, 2008, after a brief illness. He is survived by his wife, Ginny; six daughters and three sons-in-law, Lucy Jenkins and Tom Smart, Joanne and Paul Lindmark, Barbara Jenkins, Julie Jenkins, Linda and Jim Stearns, Karen Skaggs; his grandchildren, Billy, Rachel and Rebecca Lindmark, Rob and Annie Smart, Nicole Jenkins, Nathan, David, Aaron, Timmy, Michael, Simeon, and Annah Stearns, Amanda, Kaitlyn and Colton Skaggs; brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Fay Jenkins; sister and brother-in-law, Ann and Charlie Tolleson; several nieces and nephews. Mr. Jenkins retired from IBM, Owego and enjoyed his retirement playing golf, fishing, and skiing and he enjoyed teaching his grandchildren the same. He volunteered for the Red Cross Disaster Team for many years. Bob's greatest love was the Lord and bringing unity to the Christian Community. He touched many people in all walks of life and will be missed by all. A very special thank you to the Local Body of Christ for their outpouring of support and love during this time. Also thank you to Hospice at Lourdes.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 10, 2008, at 1:00 p.m. at the Sword and the Spirit Christian Fellowship, 37 Dickenson Road, Owego. Burial will be in the Tioga Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. prior to the services at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Robert E. Jenkins' memory to Kevin Guest House, 782 Ellicott St., Buffalo, N.Y. 14203. Arrangements are by the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home. www.emfaheyfuneralhome.com
