To The Family, I"m so sorry to read about Ann's passing. We met at Bgh. the first time and worked together, was a breath of fresh air. She also helped in the care of my husbands Aunt which I am totally thankful for.She was always so kind and thoughtful,we all will be missing a wonderful person.

I remember laughter, smiles, and quick wit. Maryanne's home was always open to the neighborhood kids. Starting at the age of eight, I spent hours, even days there, hanging out with Deb, Kathy, Chris and Lisa. Eventually we became annoying adolescents, a whole neighborhood gang of us. Maryanne would join the teens who were hanging out on her front porch, listening and occasionally joining in with her own jokes, observations and advice. She was in touch with us in a way that few other adults were; If she was out on her porch alone trying to get a little solitude, the teens would join her because she was the most approachable and fun-loving adult on the Northside. Not once did she ever turn me away with a "not now" or "it's time for you to go home." I was always welcome, and because of MaryAnne, her home and family seemed like an extended family of my own.
One day I remember her making pasta from scratch and hanging it on lines to dry in her home. Homemade gnocchi too. I remember her being a devoted daughter to her ailing and elderly mom; she took those same caretaking skills and used them in her worklife serving the spectrum of humanity: some years she worked on the maternity ward witnessing and celebrating the newly born; other years she worked in nursing homes comforting and entertaining the elders.
Ray Charles, move over. MaryAnne could play the piano with as much gusto and passion as any professional musician. She couldn't read music, and didn't need to. She could play it all by ear.
I can only imagine how much Ken and their children will miss her. She was a very special lady who celebrated life as a daily practice. I will miss her, but I will never forget this most kind and fun-loving soul who let me call her "Maryanne."

Debbie and Family..Sorry to hear of the loss of your Mom. God takes care of the wonderful people who shared their goodness in life and I know your Mom did. I still can't go by Bermond Avenue without thinking it is the Mill's house and her on the porch. Bless you all.
