Dorothy Joan Weiskopff
of Vestal
Doroty J. Weiskopff, 85, of Vestal, passed away Wednesday, October 8, 2008, at the Vestal Nursing Center. She was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence, and son, Eric. She is survived by her two children, daughter Christine, Binghamton, and Keith Weiskopff and fiancee, Helen Burdick, Apalachin; daughter-in-law, Patty and children, Chelsea and Kaitlyn; sister, Lillian Harvey; two friends, Joe and Jimmy Surace; and also special friend, Dr. Bucker; several nieces, nephews, and many dear friends. She was a member of St. Andrew's Anglican Church of Vestal. She enjoyed walking and loved her animals, especially cats. The family would like to especially thank the Vestal Nursing Center for their great care of Dorothy.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Vestal Library or to the Animal Care Council, 131 Washington Ave., Endicott, N.Y. Arrangements are by the Coleman and Daniels Funeral Home, Inc., 300 E. Main St., Endicott.

For many years Joan was a neighbor of ours on Academy Dr. in Vestal. And for many years I worked with her son, Eric, at the Vestal Public Library. She was a caring mother and a gentle, pleasant person; I have happy memories of chatting with her, and we shared our grief at the time of Eric's death. Jane Coutts
