Roy Stensland Obituary
of Endwell
formerly of Staten Island
Roy Stensland, 75, of Endwell, formerly of Staten Island, passed away Tuesday, October 7, 2008, at the Susquehanna Nursing Facility, Johnson City. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Joan, Endwell; one daughter and son-in-law, Laura and Joseph Vaglica, Endicott; one son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Christine Stensland, Shoreline, Wash.; five grandchildren, Joseph, Matthew, and Melissa Vaglica, Endicott, Peter and Anna Stensland, Wash.; one brother and sister-in-law, Arnie and Geraldine Stensland, Monticello; one niece, Karen Farrell; and one nephew, Eric Stensland. Roy was a retired employee of Con-Edison of NYC after 36 years of service. He was a veteran of the US Army, serving as a medic in Germany from 1956 - 1958. Roy enjoyed all sports, fishing, and collecting sports memorabilia.
Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service for Roy on Saturday, October 18, 2008 at 3 p.m. at the Coleman and Daniels Funeral Home, Inc., 300 E. Main St., Endicott. The Rev. Susan E. Davis will officiate. Interment will be at the family's convenience. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 2 p.m. until service time at 3 p.m. Roy's family wishes to give special thanks to the Second Floor Staff of the Susquehanna Nursing Home for their loving care and support given to Roy and his family. Those wishing may make contributions in Roy's memory to St. Mark's United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, 6144 Amboy Rd., Staten Island, N.Y. 10309; or to the charity of their choice.

I will always remember seeing you after school, with the cards of the day and that pipe. You were always nice to me and treated me like part of the family. The Powell's all are sending their love out to you and your family.
