Elizabeth Sheldon Obituary

Elizabeth J. Sheldon
of Thompson, Pa.
Elizabeth J. Sheldon, 84, of Thompson, passed away on Sunday, October 28, 2007, in the afternoon at home. She was the widow of Harold Sheldon who passed away in 2002. Born July 6, 1923 in Thompson, daughter of the late Myrl and Cecile Dixon Stone, she was a graduate of Thompson High School. She was a member of the North Jackson Methodist Church where she served as organist for many years and was a member of the United Methodist Women. Her warmth, genuine concern for people and the unassuming way in which she shared her knowledge and experience made many who knew her feel she was their second mother. She loved attending her grandsons' baseball games. She is survived by sons, Stanley (wife, Jessie), Lompoc, Calif., Dr. Douglas (wife, Margaret), Dalton, Pa., Paul (wife, Susan), Branchburg, N.J.; and daughters, June (Richard) Lambertson, Thompson, and Dr. Helen (Alan) Longacre, Susquehanna; grandchildren, Joshua, Brian, Daniel, Jason and Lauren Sheldon and Adam, Sam and Jordan Longacre; brothers, Oscar, Donald and Elson Stone, Thompson; and sister, Helen Stone, Susquehanna. She was predeceased by brothers, Paul and Everett Stone.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 3, at 10:30 a.m. at the North Jackson United Methodist Church with Rev. James Rouse officiating. Friends may call at the family home from 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday evening, November 2, and at the church from 9:30 on Saturday morning. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in Elizabeth's memory to the North Jackson United Methodist Chruch, c/o Elaine Wood, PO Box 435, Jackson, Pa. 18825 or to a charity of the donor's choice.
