June L. Chesnick
of Deerfield, N.Y.
June L. (Paye) Chesnick, 81, of Deerfield, N.Y., passed away Monday, November 26, 2007, at home. June was born in Forest City, Pa., on October 1, 1926, a daughter of Ross S. and Louise (Rolls) Paye. In Forest City on August 28, 1954, June was united in marriage to Francis A. Chesnick, a blessed union of 53 years. She was a member of Christ Community Church, North Utica. June also did volunteer work at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center, Meals on Wheels at St. Luke's Hospital, and the Nursery School at Christ Community Church. June was very proud of the fact that during World War II she was a female firefighter for Forest City, Pa. June is survived by her husband, Francis; three daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Andrew Frosch, Newark, Del., Susan and Charles Lorraine, Utica, and Christine and Joseph Chelak, Endwell, N.Y.; a sister, Ruth Lazarek, Binghamton, N.Y.; five grandchildren, Jacob Lorraine, Utica, Daniel Vennero and wife, Jennifer, Fayetteville, N.C., Kristin Dinelle and husband, David, Ft. Momuth, N.J., Kevin Chelak and Kristen Chelak, Endwell, N.Y. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren and many special in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Chesnick's funeral will be held on Saturday, December 1, 2007, at 10:15 from the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., North Utica, and at 11:00 from Christ Community Church, Herkimer Rd., North Utica. Calling hours at the funeral home are Friday from 5-7 and Saturday from 9-10:15. Burial will take place at the Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville, N.Y., at 11:30 on Monday, December 3rd. Those so wishing may make donations to the American Heart Association or the Lung Association in June's memory.
