Dear Margarethe, Dieter, Wendy, and Karsten,

Our families were all terribly saddened to hear of Erich’s untimely death. Please accept our deepest condolences. Erich was a very generous person who brought a smile to the face of all who met him. We reflect on happier times when we met Erich years ago in California (and borrowed his car) or a few years later when he was a welcome guest at our wedding. We were cheered to hear of his own wedding and the subsequent birth of his son. He has been taken too soon, and he will surely be missed by all who knew him. Our thoughts and prayers are with your families at this most difficult and tragic time.

With our most sincere sympathy,
Dieter and Irmgard (Inzell, Germany)
Walther, Jean and Nicholas (Boston)
Joerg (Hannover, Germany)

Liebe Wendy & Karsten, Margarethe & Dieter, Elizabeth & Martin,

from the bottom of our heart we express our sympathy to you for the loss of Erich.
Our condolences go out to all of you and Wendy's family.
We feel with you and we know what it is like when a loved person passes away.
Erich was unique. He kept a good and warm heart, was very politely, always helpful and cheerful.
I remember last year when he presented us proudly Wendy at our VW meeting here.
Or at an earlier meeting in the 90s I was with him and Martin driving through our town in my old VW panelvan.
We all had great fun there.
We are glad to have met him!
Erich will live - in our memories, thoughts and prayers.
To all of you he left behind we write:
It won't be explanations that help you, but your will to go on!
Therefore we wish you much power.

All the best to you from Rita, Markus, Thomas & Regina, Stefan

Dear Margarethe, Dieter, Wendy, and Karsten,
we would like to share this photo from 2001 with you, when Erich guided us in San Francisco.
We had a wonderful day there, and this is how we will remember Erich: extremely nice, so friendly and open, and having an enormous amount of humour.
Our thoughts are with you!

Dear Margarethe, Dieter, Wendy & Karsten

we are so sorry to hear of Erich's death and would like to express our deepest sympathy. Remembering your last visit in Munich we still see him in those traditional Bavarian clothes (and the small bells on his legs) with a big smile. This unique personality we will never forget!

For the next days and weeks we wish you strength to bear with the loss of a loved husband and father. We are thinking of you at this very difficult time.

I have been deeply saddened by Erick's death knowing the sorrow you feel with this loss. I remember with admiration the profound love always seen in your family.I saw it in Germany for Deiter's birthday when both of your sons spoke so lovingly of their father, and with Deiter and Erick on the yellow VW restoration project. Let these memories comfort and speak the depths of your love. My love to you all in this difficult time.

I am so sorry to hear of the loss of Erich. My condolences go out to all his family.I met Erich at the Litchfield Connecticut Volkswagen show in June of 2000. He was a warm, friendly person and I felt like I knew him for many years-I had often discussed Antique Volkswagen issues with him (via the internet) and he was extremely knowledgeable. To the family of Erich my sincere condolences go out to you. I worked at SRMH and Erich was a frequent visitor to our dept. ensuring equiptment was functioning properly and tending to things that required attention. Wendy, I've never met you but I remember how Erich's face would lite up when he spoke of you. The last time I saw Erich was maybe a year ago and he was so happy and excited about about his growing family. Congratulations on your son! Thaughts and prayers to the Kircher family. I will always remember Erich as a gentleman with an honest heart.
