Francis Laliberte Obituary

LALIBERTE, FRANCIS J., 84, of Campbell St., passed away Saturday, July 5, 2008 at the Memorial Hospital of RI. He was the beloved husband of Marie Y. 'Doris' (Groleau) Laliberte for 66 years.

Born in Pawtucket, he was a son of the late Israel and Marie (Pommenville) Laliberte. Francis was a World War II Army veteran, he served in the European Theater of Operations. Before retiring in 1989, he was a foreman at New England Paper Tube Company for 40 years.

Besides his wife he leaves one son, Francis Laliberte, Jr. of Lincoln; one brother, Normand Laliberte of Hollywood, FL; several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. He was the father of the late Linda and Gary Laliberte and the brother of the late Israel 'Pete', Louis, Walter, Raymond Laliberte, Alida Dube Pruneau, Yvonne Bessette, Blanche Duquette, Fedora Mercier, Beatrice Cardosi, Gertrude Sheehan and Florence Judd.

His funeral with Military Honors will be held Wednesday at 9 a.m. from WILLIAM W. TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Teresa Church, 358 Newport Ave., Pawtucket. Interment will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery. I spent my childhood with Uncle Frank and Aunt Dot, being my best friend Carolyn Judd Saba was their niece and we all lived on Campbell St. , he was always very nice and we had lots of fun,,,God Bless him and hi family

Mrl. Laliberte was a great neighbor and a fine man. His pool was always open to children of neighbors on Campbell Street, and I am grateful that I had a chance to know him. My deepest sympathy to Mrs. Laliberte and the rest of his family.
