Charles Newell Obituary
Born in Fall River, MA, he was the son of the late Charles and Angela (LaRocque) Newell.
Before retirement, Charles was employed as an operations manager for Conrail.
He was the loving father of Paul Newell of Cranston and Patricia Croce of Johnston. Grandfather of Matthew Newell. He was also the father-in-law of the late Sonny Croce and Renee L. Newell.
His funeral will be held on WEDNESDAY at 8:45am from the RUSSELL J. BOYLE & SON Funeral Home, 331 Smith St., PROVIDENCE, with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Rocco Church, Atwood Ave, Johnston at 10am, Interment will follow in North Burial Ground in Fall River, MA. Visiting hours are TUESDAY from 5 to 8pm.

I grew up spending a lot of time visiting the Popiels and getting to know all of their neighbors because at that time there was always something going on--a cook out, someones birthday, etc. Always a reason for the neighbors to get together and have fun--and they did have fun! I have a pcture of Rita, Charlie, Dotty P. Laura Larson and others all sitting in a large child's swimming pool. We really had a great time playing croquette in the back yard. I have many fond memories of that time in my life. I remember Charlie as being a big practical joker! Good, good memories. My sympathy to you all.

I will always remember Charlie walking through my Grandparents backyard when I was a little girl, always a nice man to me and my brother.
