Peter MacManus Obituary
Born in Pawtucket a son of the late Peter and Grace (Coggshall) MacManus he lived in Barrington and Rehoboth. He was a Fire fighter in Barrington until retiring in 1992 and was the President of MacManus Landscaping in Rehoboth. He was a volunteer for the Rehoboth Fire Department, a member of the Seekonk Rod and Gun Club and an avid historian. He served his country as a member of the US Marine Corps.
He leaves two daughters, Helen E. MacManus Dixon and her husband, Gary, Sarah MacManus-Rayl and her husband Anthony all of Rehoboth, a brother Richard A. MacManus of Narragansett, four grandchildren, Timothy and Amanda Dixon, Rayshawn Zavala and Savanah D. Rayl. He was also the grandfather of the late Shelby M. Rayl.
The funeral Service will be held on Wednesday at 11 A.M. in the Smith-Mason Funeral Home, 398 Willett Avenue, Riverside with burial in Forest Chapel Cemetery in Barrington. Calling hours are Tuesday 5 to 8 P.M. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the American Diabetes Association would be appreciated. I remember Peter quite well during my early times in Barrington.Being another gear-head, I recall his 39 Ford and old VW busses among others.But mostly,his wit and general
good humor are the pleasant memories.My best to all.
