Gene Hall Obituary

HALL, GENE A., 67, of Melrose Street, died Friday, November 7, 2008 at RI Hospital.

Born in Providence he was the son of the late Robert and Alice (Redford) Hall. Gene was employed as a mathematics teacher in the junior high and high school with the Coventry School Department for 35 years before retiring. He was a graduate of RI College, where he was a dancer and choreographer. He was an active member for many years with the Elmwood Foundation and was involved in several charitable and non-profit organizations many having to do with children.

He is survived by one sister, Shirley A. Gaines, and her husband, Arthur, of Enfield, Ct.; one niece, Judith Redford Hall of Washington state; one nephew, Mark Gaines of North Carolina and one great nephew Jedidiah VanKrieken of Washington state; his cousin, Pauline Cole and her husband, Robert, of Warwick.

A memorial service will be held Thursday at 10 am in the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Chapel, 2435 Warwick Ave., Warwick. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Philip Hulitar Home & Hospice Inpatient Center, 50 Maude St., Providence, RI 02908 will be appreciated. One day Gene we will be shoveling
fluffy clouds instead of the new fluffy snow that cemented a lasting
and wonderful friendship. I will miss our having tea and cookies along with great talks.
