January 25, 2015

Yesterday would have been your 56 birthday. This year being 8 yrs you left. Our children are getting older but raising them is no easier for I cannot fathom the emotion they feel. You are with the Lord now, victory is yours. I just wish there was a way to bridge the distance for them to find closure to this open ended heartache you left us.

Its coming up on 2 years that you have been gone. So much as happened. I am trying my hardest to keep our family intact but they are growing up. I don't have all the answers and continue to look to God for them. We miss you. Your Son misses you and your lil lady does as well.
Tears still fall from my eyes as thoughts of you come to mind and people will never know what we really had even though it appeared that we didn't have much. How short life is. Missing you,

Cheryl
MEANING: PRINCESS

You truly possess
A charm special and rare.
You can hold your head high
You have that special air.
To your many admirers,
You seem almost royal.
Your devoted followers
Will always be loyal.
Because of your name,
Enchantment and romance
Will fill your life long
With laughter, song and dance.

I just now learned of Cheryl's passing. I loved Cheryl so very much. She and I were constant companions during our teens. SO MUCH FUN! Although we lost contact as the years went on, we always had a connection that could be reestablished with a single conversation. She was the best friend a girl could have during those "terrible teens". We had a mission and we had fun. I love you Cheryl and will deeply miss you. My condolences to her children and her family.

I'm writing from Morocco to offer my deepest sympathies to Rich and Gianna after hearing about their mother's death. When I worked at Hallworth House, I often had lunch with Cheryl and she always kept things lively. It was also great when she joined in the music programs singing along with familiar songs to residents who smiled with appreciation at her impromptu performances. She was alot of fun but I was also always impressed when she snapped into what I called nurse mode and became a professional caregiver and teacher with other staff. Above all, she loved her children so much, always talked about them, was always proud as they practically grew up around Hallworth House. It's a terrible loss for you children but we will all remember Cheryl with much love and hope her love for you will give you courage to carry on.

Dear Richard and Gianna,
I am so sorry to hear about your mom's sudden passing. I was not aware until this week. My prayers are with you and your family. The best advice I can give you is to lean on the Lord Jesus Christ in everything you do. He will give you peace and strength and guidance better than anyone or anything. I have been in a similar place, only I was 10 years old. Jesus Christ has kept me all of these years and He has been extremely faithful. Be faithful unto Him and seek His plan and calling in your lives and you will have the wondrous Hope of meeting Him and seeing your mom again.
I really loved your mom. She was a special lady. She wanted to be a school nurse one day, we talked about it alot. I am blessed to have known her and her wonderous smile. May God Bless you both and your entire family. (Rich, Seth is away at college and I need to tell him, but I am sure His sympathy comes to you and He will pray for you too.)
Love,
Mrs. Milton

To the family of CherylAnn,
I worked with Cheryl at Hallworth for many years and considered her a friend more than a coworker. She was indeed a great friend to me and always encouraged me and helped me when I let things bother me. She listened to me and helped in anyway she could. I don't think I ever saw her without a smile and will always remember her great sense of humor and jokes that were shared. She always said to me don't let the small things bother you if you want to live a long life so now I will honor her words. I knew Gianna and Richard when they were infants and watched them grow. Cheryl knew my love for children and let me hug Gi and Richie whenever I saw them and from infant to teenage years they still hugged me when they saw me. Cheryl said "that's how my kids have been brought up" to show love. I remember one time when a cna commented to Richie that he was to old now to be hugged Cheryl said no he is not well tears came to my eyes because I felt so good that she would stand up for me and put that person in her place.
Cheryl always sympathized and understood me. I also remember singing with her and because we are the same age I would remember artists to her and we'd sing the songs we liked from them.
I attended the mass for Cheryl and although very sad, it was beautiful.
Speaking for all at Hallworth who worked with Cheryl and loved her, deepest condolences are sent and many thoughts and prayers go out to her family at this difficult time.
Cheryl was also the cousin of my brother-in-laws sisters husband John Manacchio which makes an even more bond. I would love to hear from Gianna and Richard at my e-mail address to keep in touch.

I never stopped loving you- no matter what many may say and you knew it deep in your heart. "punky"- your love, was a gift I can never return. Your friendship was something only God could send me and the trust that you placed in me as a man, I will never forget.

"To love a person as freely as you did, without reservation or contempt" only reinforces the fact that many of people may wear a uniform in an attempt to aid and assist, but you are a real hero.

You stood in the light of the Lord and loved all that came your way. The things you stood for are things only those who truly knew you would know. You were great! I thank you from the bottom of my heart for all that you've given me, Our son and Our daughter and I will honor your memory, each day that passes.

It is in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior, that I rest my assurance in His name that we will see each other once again, someday soon.

As I look back on the years at the memories, through both those personally shared with Cheryl and those of our children, it is only fit that I regret ever being apart.
Cheryl had a soul that was alive and lived each day to her fullest. She always had a smile on her face. Her God given spirit was one of freedom and one that loved everyone she met. But, what she lived for was something else altogether.
The amount of love she had for Me, Richard Jr and Gianna Victoria, her siblings, her in-laws and her closest friends was a love that truly was "till death do we part".

It was God's will that brought us together and it is at God's allowance that I stand here today, thankful for all that we shared.

Though my heart is broken at the loss of my friend, it is full of wonderful memories we have shared. We have been more than friends, we have been sisters. We shared some great times and were always there for each other - to laugh or cry together. Her family was my family, and mine hers.

My prayers are with her family, especially her wonderful children whom she adored. May God be with you all. Cheryl touched so many lives and brought happiness to so many. Always remember her wonderful giving spirit.

Cheryl, you will be in my heart always and will be missed more than words can say.
