Barbara Davis Obituary

DAVIS, BARBARA J., (HOLDEN), 77, of Noyes Street, died Tuesday, December 4, 2007 at the Haven Healthcare in CT. She was the wife of the late Percy P. Davis, Sr.

Born in Warwick, a daughter of the late Jake S. and Harriet A. (Thornton) Holden, she was a life long resident of Warwick.

Barbara was the beloved mother of Shirley M. Davis, Pearl S. Rezendes and her husband, Edward; Linda A. Carew, Percy P., Jr. and his wife, Beverly; Ronald E. and his wife, Lysa; and Christine M. Jones and her husband, Richard. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Jake Jr., Elmer, Harry, Everett Holden, Mildred Davis and Beatrice Reels.

Relatives and friends are invited to the funeral service Monday 10 a.m. at the Pond Street Baptist Church, 75 Chester Ave., Providence. Burial will be in the Brayton Cemetery, Post Road, Warwick. Visiting hours Sunday 3-7 p.m. at the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Avenue. Information and guestbook visit www.TheQuinnFuneralHome.com

Memories is such a great thing...I can remember the summers spent in Apponaug that will live on in my heart forever...when the family embraced me with open arms.

Your Mom and Dad grew up with my Mom and all of you made me feel like family...I was blessed!

i am so sorry to hear of your lost, of your mom. i did not know her like most peoples that came into her like, but i will alway remember the first time i meet her. and that was at knitting class at pond street baptist, she was not sure how to hold the needles. and i show her how to do it. she was really trying to get into it. so this is how i will remeber her. may god bless all of you doing this time.and just like i have this memory of her, you will have your memory to get you trough the days to come.
