He was born May 6, 1921, in Blue Lake Township, Mich., to Anna (Krubaech) and Ernest Weisse. He graduated from Whitehall High School in 1939. He served with the U.S. Army/Air Force in 1941-42 and attended GM Institute, studying engineering.
Robert enjoyed being a partner of Lakeshore Machinery & Supply Co. He loved the life of a salesman and the travel involved with his job.
Robert was an excellent carpenter. He was an outdoorsman, loved golfing, skiing and playing cards with family and friends. He loved to laugh and joke.
Robert was a longtime member of Central Lutheran Church in Muskegon, and Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Traverse City.
He was married to Marvel (Reeve) for 62 years and is survived by three children, Curtis Weisse, Craig Weisse, and Cynthia (Dean) Weisse-Jurik; four grandchildren: Robert and Rianna Weisse, Noah and Clara Jurik; and a sister Eileen Kennedy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Ernest Jr. and Charles and stepsister Mabel.
Robert and Marvel lived in Muskegon until 1994, and then moved north to live near their children and grandchildren.
A celebration of Robert's life will be held at his home.
