I was in the VA Army National Guard from March 2007-April 2013. I heard much of you after you left us here for Heaven.
I was thinking bout you tonight, your wife & 3 youngins...hope they're doing ok. I reckon they're bout grown by now. I'm so sorry I never got to meet you, my fellow soldier brother, but I will one day whenever the Lord calls me up. Til then though, I WILL NEVER QUIT...my favorite of the 4 warrior ethos & you just continue resting easy, "Hillbilly"!

I miss my cheeseburger eating friend! You spoke of how much you loved your kids just hours before you died. I stared at your empty bunk for the longest time days after your death, and I thought that the world was a little bit more empty now that you were gone. You were a good friend and I will always miss you.

I see your wife all the time. I know how much you loved her. The two of you truly were one. I remember when you told me just days before you died how she was what made you such a good man. I just wanted you to know she isn't alone when she needs support. I made you a promise brother to take care of her and those kids if something happened. She's as strong as you said and everytime we talk I understand why you loved her so much. She lives for the both of you know and you'd be very proud of how good a momma she is. The fights you worried about her having to face she handles with ease and she knows I'm there in her corner and why. Thanks for teaching alot of us what it meant to be a good husband. You were a damn good soldier and the best NCO I have ever served with. But you taught me alot about being a dad and husband. Betsy is keeping her promise to you. All of them. I know she missed you brother. Just rest easy man, she has all of ya'lls military family standing with her. We won't let you down.

Everytime Jerry plays his guitar we think of you when he plays free bird. All of us think of what a wonderful caring man you was. Everytime time I am on the phone and I say goodbye to someone I think how you would always say do not say goodbye. Your children are such precious angels. It says it takes a great man to die for another. I always knew you was a great man. Just sorry you had to show how great you was. Take care until I see you again on the streets of gold.

Jesse, As Memorial day is about to be upon us and everyone around the country celebrates with picnics etc.and most dont even know what memorial day is about. It is not the beginning of the summer season and the pools now are open, it is a Holiday to remember those fallen hero's as yourself. I seems like in this family it has stung us so bad that we have memorial day everyday as we remember you and why you died and that we go on loving you and never forgetting. We Love you buddy and Miss you. Please look upon your cuz Patrick & watch over him with care and protection. Love Aunt Sharon

Ault or Whatever family member wants them.Jesse made me laugh alot on the road but he has made me cry many times at home.IRONIC laugh in a war zone and cry at home.We will honor his memory forever.Thank you for sharing your loved one with us.His life will touch others for many years to come.God bless,Joseph Moore.

My name Joseph Moore I spent several missions in Iraq with Sgt.Jesse Ault as my LVC.Jesse was the best LVC in the unit.On one mission the Iraqi police began to lead our convoy off our route ,Jesse said"this road aint on the map"He turned the convoy around and we avoided an ambush that night! He saved some lives that time for sure. One time Sgt.ault was jogging at Camp Arifjan, I drove by in a hmmv asked him if he wanted a ride he just laughed and kept jogging.I always liked and respected him as a soldier and a family. He was a good example of an NCO,soldier,But most of all. Father and Husband. Most of us had clicks we hung out with but Jesse treated everyone the same.He was a professional and a good friend to have around.God bless you my friend.I think of constantly and will never forget you.Joseph moore

I'ts been 2 years ago today that God called to take you away
But we have his promise that we will see you again someday
You were a true American Hero In every sort of the way
The lives you touched...
Our tears are on display
Family, Friends will never be the same
Always wondering will this hurt ever go away
Doing our best to get through each day
Then we hear a small sweet voice say
"will you come and play"
A reminder that you really haven't gone away For you see you left two small paarts of you here that are getting bigger every day
The reality of the sacrifice that you and yours have made
But with mom and big brother leading the way Maybe just maybe it will be okay
Hopefully stories will come from near and far so that your children will learn the great man that you are
There is no doubt you are watching down from heavens floor
And when it's our turn to go you will be standing at the door
LIVES CHANGED FOREVER
GONE BUT NEVER FORGOTTEN

I remember when i first met Jesse. HE walked in square jaw and a dip in his mouth and asked what i was looking at. After that we became friends. i think about you every day. Like the time the truck behind us took a hit and you climbed in the gun hole with me just to make sure I was ok. Or us listening to Highway to hell in the headset and singing just to drive Momma nuts. When we met you tried to teach me so much and you didnt even know it. it was more you did it and i watched. but you taught me true Soldier Care. I wish we could have one more beer, one more laugh just one more. I miss you. Betsy i know we have not always gotten along but if you need anything please let me know. [email protected]

Mrs. ault and family: My husband was in Iraq at the same time as Jesse in Iraq and had the fortune of meeting and serving with him. My husband isn't always sentimental, however, when he came home he had in his possession a bracelet that he wears with pride and honor engraved with jesse's name on it and the date of his passing. I knew when I asked my husband about it, that Jesse Ault was brave and well respected by his soliders. And my husband told me of how he worried about his men, above and below him. As i have read, the blogs, not wishing to intrude, i wanted you to know, Jesse continues to be thought of and his courage remains instilled in those who met him even if for a brief encounter. He truely sounds like the solider every family wants their soldier to learn from and take example of. L. Crouch wife of Sgt. C. Crouch

This Memorial Day, we stop to remember those who fought for our country, especially those who gave the ultimate sacrifice, their lives, for it.
I wanted to take the time to thankfully pray for Jesse and his family, as well as my late father-in-law Major General Frank A. Hinrichs (U.S. Army) and my own late father, Lt. Col. Frithjof. J. Hanson (USAF). This country has its freedoms because of these men who fought on foreign soil and did their duty time and time again. Today, I think of you, Jesse, and the mark you made on the world. I am forever grateful and will always remember you.
