Bethene Goldammer Obituary

Bethene Ella Goldammer, 86, of Blacksburg, Va., died Wednesday, October 8, 2008, at the New River Valley Medical Center. She was born in Genoa, Neb., on October 2, 1922, to the late Jay and Ella Dutton Branson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Edmond Goldammer. Mrs. Goldammer was a longtime member of the United Methodist Church, Banning, Calif., and more recently a member of Christiansburg Presbyterian Church. She was survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael Dennis and Melanie Goldammer, of Clearwater, Fla., and Jay and Patty Goldammer, of Blacksburg; a stepdaughter, Linda Diane Blissmer, of Cookeville, Tenn.; three grandchildren, Jennifer, Jessica, and Michaela Goldammer; and a brother and sister-in-law, Lyle and Nelda Branson, of Springfield, Mo. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. on Sunday, October 12, 2008, in the Christiansburg Presbyterian Church with Dr. Don Makin officiating. Interment will follow in California. Arrangements by McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg, Va.

I am so sorry for your loss. I worked at the dialysis center in Blacksburg. Bethene was such a sweet lady, we shared a passion for reading and we use to share books. Bethene will be sadly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Heather
