Eileen Moore Petersen

Eileen Moore Petersen, 70, of Bedford, Va., passed away on Sunday, October 12, 2008. She was born in Norfolk, Va., to the late Louis Girlard and Irene Vitra Moore. Eileen was also preceded in death by her brother, Willie Girlard Moore. Surviving are her husband, Raymond "Pete" Petersen; sons, Cale Allen Dikeman, Raymond Rodney Petersen, of Richmond, Michael Petersen, of Roanoke, and Nickolas Petersen and wife, Carol, of Goodview; daughters, Virginia Petersen Ruff and husband, Paul, of Damascus, Md., and Kaylon Petersen Kennedy and husband, Carl, of British Columbia, Calif.; brother and sister-in-law, Louis Gary and Grace Moore, of Cape Cod, Mass.; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; an uncle, James "Tommy" Thomas, of Norfolk; a niece; and four nephews. The family wishes to thank Bedford Hospice for their loving care for Eileen. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. on Thursday, October 16, 2008, at Oakey's North Chapel, Roanoke. The Rev. Roy Law will officiate. Interment will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, October 15, 2008, at Oakey's North Chapel, 540-362-1237.
