Ethan was an old friend of mine from Roanoke and again from The College of Charleston. He once went to the Florida Keys with me and I have the funniest memories of my life from that trip. He was a gentleman and sought to make others comfortable in his presence. I bumped into him again years later in Columbia SC and always thought somehow I would bump into him again. A true loss.

Enough simply cannot be said about such a truly wonderful and accomodating figure such as Mr. Engleby. Though I've only had the good fortune to sit with him and talk a few times, those were a few times very well spent. God bless you, sir.

The conversations, jokes and friendship was for too short. He was always around for a good conversation, and could always bring a smile to my face. Ethan will be missed. My prayers go out to Anne and the rest of the family.

Ethan was a warm, thoughtful, and kind person. He and Annie would always stop by and say hi to me and my dogs, Dillon, Sadie and Mazel. The dogs would go crazy when Annie and Ethan would visit. They just loved their visits. Ethan would just sit on the floor and make himself at home. We would always catch up on the latest news and family. I am so happy to have had him and Annie cross our path. I am saddened by his loss and will miss his smile and kindness. Annie my thoughts are with you and Ethan's family at this time. Sending you love and hugs!

I occasionally referred to Ethan as the mayor of anywhere he was at any given moment; he was the first guy to extend a hand and welcome someone new and he was the guy that could sit and talk for hours with someone he had just met. He will be greatly missed.

My thoughts and sympathies are with Anne and the rest of Ethan's family.
