Wilbert Pruett Memoriam

In Loving Memory of Wilbert Wayne PRUETT 8-1-1955 10-21-2007
As He Slowly Walks Away
And now I watch my brother,
as he slowly walks away.
And though he cannot hear me,
I still have words to say.
From words of his courage,
from words of family love.
And words from all of
those memories
that we always think of.
My own heart beats slower.
My thoughts become still.
As I see his memory from my window sill.
I close my eyes to remember
all the things he'd done.
He did so much for others,
never asking from anyone.
I know in my heart that I will see him once again
For he was more than a brother
He was always a friend.
An open heart to remember,
a heart on the go
for Wayne never met a person
that he did not know.
And now he walks with courage
through the memories of
our hearts.
Wayne was just a good 'ole boy
from the very start.
Music had flowed through
his soul,
with the beating of a drum.
To all the songs of yesterday
that we all like to hum.
We want to thank you Lord
so much,
for not giving us another.
For he was the one we wanted
to be our big brother.
And now I watch my brother
As he slowly walks away
and though he cannot hear me
I still have words to say.
For my special brother,
always in my heart
Stevie
