We are so sorry for your loss. Kathy worked with our son at Auburn Elementary. We were always impressed with her creativity and how hard she worked to help him learn and grow. She was a warm person with genuine interest in the children she taught. After her first surgery, she spoke to Tom and said "Tell Patrick we both have something in common. We both have had brain surgery." She was a special person and will be greatly missed. Our thoughts and prayers will be with you.

Mrs. Neff was beautiful inside and out. What she did to help our son with his severe speech delay was amazing. She never gave up-a pink pig,Cookie Monster, shortbread cookies and sitting in the doorway to the supply closet was her magic formula for him.She would be so proud to hear him say the blessing at meatimes now.

Thank you dear lady.

My deepest sympathys for all of Kathy's family. We met Kathy at Auburn Elementary School as my sons Speech teacher. She made all his "dreaded" lessons turn into fun and humor. She really did work miracles with her knowledge and way of relating to children. She enjoyed her work and was always so helpful. I will always remember how much she helped Logan, and would always give me a smile and say "its gonna be fine". Thoughts and prayers are with you all.

To the Neff and Montgomery County Schools Family:
My thoughts and prayers are with you. I worked with Kathy for many years at several schools and remember her bright smile, sense of humor and devotion to her students. She was a great Speech Therapist.
I recall her visits to my office where we shared many fun times and discussed best practices for our students. I can hear her voice calling to me in the hall, "Hey Wadovsky"! We participated in many meetings together and Kathy always had valuable insights and information to share. She touched so many lives and we are all the better for it. I will miss her greatly as I know we all will.
Kathy, rest in peace and we will all see your smiling face again.

Mr Neff: I am so sorry for your loss. I too lost my lovely spouse in January via stroke and did not have a chance to tell her goodbye. I grew up with Kathy and our parents knew each other from the beginning.
She was a wonderful friend that we could always enjoy a good story and laugh. I also knew her brother Mark very well and the whole family. I just wanted to send my deepest sympanty and to let you know to keep on living as that is what Kathy would have wanted. I still hurt everyday at my loss after being married for 19 years. May God be with you and bless you and the family.

Dear Jack, Lucille, Mark and family,
My prayer is for God to comfort you as He only can. My aim is to share a memory of Kathy with you that may brighten this difficult time in your lives.
How does one say good-bye to a friend she's known for 46 years? Our roots go back to first grade at Christiansburg Primary, on to being the last class to graduate from the old Christiansburg High School. From there our paths crossed again at RU. Who would have ever thought that we would end up working together as well?
I walk by Kathy's office and still want to call out, "Good mornin' Neff!" To which she would reply either with "Good mornin', or guess who I saw?" And so we would visit and laugh and marvel at who Kathy "saw!" Or we would joke about who would get to Lowes first during summer break. That seemed to be our meeting place. It wasn't unusual to see another teacher sitting in a chair in Kathy's office doing anything from talking to getting a hair cut!! Kathy let Janice set up her beauty shop in her office. No one has ever been more accomodating and concerned about others than Kathy. The world was a better place because of the way she treated others. I certainly will miss my dear friend, and look forward to seeing her again. And so, Kathy, this is not good-bye, this is bon voyage. You have crossed over where we all must cross, so I'll see you soon!

We are so sad to hear of the loss of Mrs. Neff. She was a wonderful teacher who helped our daughter with her speech lessons. Thanks to Mrs. Neff, our daughter is more confident and no longer afraid to speak in public. She made such a difference and her students and all who knew her were truly blessed to know her. I am thankful to know that she is no longer in pain. May God comfort those who are suffering with this loss. Mrs. Neff will always have a place in the hearts of her students and everyone in the Auburn community.
