Eddie Worley Obituary

Eddie Wayne Worley, 63, of Roanoke, passed away Wednesday, November 5, 2008. Born November 25, 1944, in Buchanan, Va., he was a son of the late Leroy Paul Sr. and Verna Worley. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Darlene W. Beckner; brothers, Richard C. and Harold Joe Worley; brothers-in-law, William Howard Smith and Calvin Smith. Eddie was a ray of sunshine. He was always full of laughter and joy and never met a stranger. He was a lover of both bluegrass and traditional string music. Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth Susan Beaver Worley; brothers, James C. Worley, of Mouth of Wilson, Va., Leroy Paul Worley, of Roanoke; sister, Margarette Smith, of Buchanan; brothers-in-law, George Gilbert Beaver, of Hillsville, Richard Walker Beaver, of Marathon Key, Fla.; and a number of nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Roanoke Emergency Medical Services, 374 Day Avenue S.W., Roanoke, Va. 24016. A memorial service will be conducted 2 p.m., Friday, November 7, 2008, at Simpson Funeral Home, 5160 Peters Creek Road, by Rabbi Kathy Cohen. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Simpson Funeral Home. 366-0707.
