H.W. was a Harris Fellow and continuous oldest Member of Pulaski Rotary Club and the Pulaski American Legion. He served on the Pulaski Merchants Council, and was a member of the Pulaski Science Club. In addition, he served on the Board of Trustees of the New River Community College Foundation and established the Ann F. Huff Book Fund which will provide books for students for generations to come. H.W. was awarded Business Executive of the Year by the Pulaski Chamber of Commerce (1983), and has received New River Community College's highest award, the Friendship Award.

H.W. is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Ann Foster Huff, of 61 years; son, Hugh White Huff III and his wife, Sheryl Richardson Huff, of Salem; and daughter, Sarah Ann Huff, of Columbus, North Carolina; granddaughters, Lindsay Huff Fedok and her husband, Jason, of Alexandria, Lauren Huff Bullen and her husband, Charles, of Roanoke; and grandson, Hugh White Huff IV (Chip), of Roanoke; sister, Sara Huff Tuck and her husband, Dr. Kenneth Tuck, of Roanoke; brother, Walton Lockett Huff and wife, Mary Churchill Huff, of Houston, Texas; great-grandson, Ryan Edward Fedok, of Alexandria; and sister-in-law, Joy Foster, of Christiansburg. He is also survived by many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

His family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses of Pulaski Community Hospital and Roanoke Memorial Hospital, 10 Mountain ICU, who gave so much kindness in his care.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate his life Sunday, December 7, 2008, at 3 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church, Family Life Center, 301 Jefferson Ave. N., Pulaski. Graveside services will take place Monday, December 8, 2008, at 12 p.m. at Evergreen Burial Park, 1307 Summit Ave. SW, Roanoke, Virginia, with the Rev.
