Arvonia Lucas Obituary

Arvonia Jean Conner Lucas, 44, of Dublin, Va., and formerly of Giles County, passed away Sunday, February 15, 2009, at the Pulaski Community Hospital. Born January 23, 1965, in West Virginia, she was the daughter of Albert Allen and Aletta Jean Wilson Allen. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Alex and Sallie Wilson. Surviving is her husband, Ronald S. Grimes, of Dublin; parents, Albert and Aletta Allen, of Rich Creek; daughter, Tamrica Lynne Collins (United States Army), of Narrows; sons, CPL Christopher Scott Collins, of Camp LeJeune, N.C., and wife, Katherine, of Pembroke, and SGT Brandon Lee Collins and wife, Velvet, of Ft. Carson, Colo.; stepchildren, Jayson Grimes and Chasity Glover; grandchildren, Julian Collins, Xavier Saunders, Bradley Collins, and Michael Collins; stepgrandchildren, Dusty and Grace Deshawn; brothers, Robert Collins and James Collins Jr., of Rich Creek; niece, Eden Collins; nephews, Robert Collins Jr., Albert Collins, and Cody Lucas; aunts, Bea Cellozzi, Hazel Hall, Margaret Frazier, and Delorce Wilkinson; uncle, Alex F. Wilson Jr.; and close friend, Kim Cumbee. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 21, 2009, in the Bower Funeral Home Chapel, Pulaski with the Rev. William Alex Myers officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home. To send online condolences to the family, visit bowerfuneralhome.com.
