Geraldine Flora Saul

Geraldine Flora Saul, 80, of Roanoke, Va., passed away on Thursday, June 25, 2009. She was born November 20, 1928, a daughter of the late Marvin B. and Rose Etta Minnix Flora. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John Saul Jr.; brothers, Buford and Melvin Flora; and sister, Bethel Ash. Mrs. Saul was a graduate of Boones Mill High School and lifelong member of Germantown Brick Church of the Brethren. Surviving are her son, John A. Saul III and daughter-in-law, Judy Hawks, Roanoke; daughters, Sheryl S. Carr, of Roanoke, and Rosetta S. Anderson and son-in-law, Kevin Anderson, of Durham, N.C.; grandchildren, Gerald Carr, Lynda Carr, Thomas Anderson, and Kevin Anderson; brother and sister-in-law, J.B. and Huldah Flora; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 27, 2009, from Germantown Brick Church of the Brethren with the Rev. Maurice Wright officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Special thanks and appreciation to the staff of South Roanoke Nursing Home and Lewis-Gale Hospital for their care and concern.
