George Mattox Obituary

Mr. George William Henry Mattox, 72, of Rocky Mount, Va., died on Sunday, June 28, 2009. He is survived by two daughters, Ms. Georgette L. Mattox, of Rocky Mount, Va., and Ms. Barbara F. Mattox, of Dallas, Texas; two sons, Bryan C. (Tyron) Mattox, of Houston, Texas, and Robert E. Mattox, of Dallas, Texas; two sisters, Mrs. Frances (Curtis) Clayborne, of Rocky Mount, Va., and Mrs. Debra (Richard) Hopkins, of Rocky Mount, Va.; seven brothers, Jim A. Mattox, Frankie L. (Ethel) Mattox Sr., Billy R. (Joan) Mattox, Paul W. (Lillie) Mattox Sr., Donnie (Freda) Mattox, Bob A. (Jennifer) Mattox Sr., and Bobby B. (Debra) Mattox, all of Rocky Mount, Va.; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Rachel Mattox, of Richmond, Va.; eight grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. on Friday, July 3, 2009, at the Morningside Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Kirby Whitfield officiating. The family will receive friends one half hour prior to the funeral at the church. Interment will be held in the Wade Family Cemetery. Arrangements by Stanfield Mortuary Service, Rocky Mount, Va.
