Dear Denise & Family,
We are so sorry to have heard about Tom. We wish we were closer in distance to all of you- but that distance doesn't separate us from our thoughts and prayers for all of you. Tommy and I were not just simply cousins - we did a lot together growing up...From working at Coke in the summers, to camping outside in my Aunt Rose's backyard. I will remember it all forever- and who could forget Valley Cottage. Louise and I were so glad we had the chance to talk with Tom at Danny's wedding. Since you are all together now- please convey these thoughts to my Aunt Rose, Sallyann & Rosemary. I'll talk to them when they come home. As I am writing this - I am scheduled to work tonight in my firehouse in midtown. It is my last tour with the FDNY. I am retiring after 32 years. I have been planning it for sometime now and am looking forward to it. I hope to talk to you soon. Love, Cousin Billy & Louise, Lisa, Cindy & their families.

Dear Denise and Family,

I was so shocked to read about Tom in the Staten Island Advance. What a wonderful man! Although we have not been in touch for years, I will always remember our good times from Otterbourg, Steinder, my mail going to Buel Avenue, my visits to Valley Cottage and both of you at my wedding. Denise and family, you are in my prayers. I am so sorry. May God bless all of you in this time of sorrow.

Tommy was always a wonderful person to be around. Our son Shawn played baseball with his son Tommy and it was always a joy to visit with your family.

Denise and Family;

As always, God wins, we lose! Tom and I worked together and had many laughs together (very dry sense of humor).
God and His Family were his main concerns - he'll be missed by all!

Dear Allison and family,
I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I have been praying for him, especially since his hip injury. The only comfort to be found in this situation, is that he is now with his Creator, and is no longer suffering. My deepest condolences to you and your entire family.

Denise and family,

I have not stopped praying for Tom for months. When I heard about his hip on Tuesday, I was broken hearted and prayed all the more. I am SO SO sorry that Tom is not with us now though I KNOW that Tom is rejoicing in the presence of Jesus - at home. Glen and I will keep you in prayers and all your children, in the days and weeks ahead. Please know we love you in the Lord, dear sister. May you be enveloped by the wonderful memories of 35 years of joy.

Love and hugs,
Kathy Roberson

I am very saddened to hear about the loss of Mr. Rooney. I have very fond memories of spending time with Tommy and his father and I will always appreciate the lessons he taught us. I have not seen the family in a long time, but their kindness has always stuck with me. I am very sorry for the loss, but I know Mr. Rooney is in the glory of God now. It will be hard without him, but please remember that his eternal life has begun.
