My thoughts and prayers and with you and your family. Al was a great person as well as a good friend. My Dad passed away last May and seeing Al there although he was not in the best of health says a lot about his friendship. He will always be remembered with fondness.

Anne and Sarah, I was surprised to read of your father's passing in Dan Casey's column. I know you will miss him. Dad always thought so highly of your father. I lost my mother in 2004. I can tell you the best way to keep him alive is to store those happy memories in your heart. Love to you and your Mother in this difficult time. I remember Allen from my time working at the VAH and later after he retired seeing him as I ran by his house. He was an extremely talented person but most of all was very friendly and gracious and always willing to stop and talk.

I am so sorry for your loss. Mr. Levin meant more to me and my family than you could ever know. He gave me trumpet lessons and I remember Mother and Dad taking Fluffy (their cat) to him at Christmas so they could take of picture of Fluffy and Santa together. We still have the photo. He was already an angel walking on this earth. Sincerest condolences, Marilyn Smith Dean, Woodruff, SC.

Cantor Levin is the only reason I have any good memories of my Confirmation year. I'll never forget his telling us in detail how Gefilte fish is made. I was delighted to run into him when he was Santa Claus and so glad I kept the photo. I'll always remember him with love, Lisa(Sheffler)Wilburn

I was deeply saddened to hear about Cantor Levin's passing. I will always remember him for his kindness and his beautiful singing voice. He was one of my favorite teachers in Sunday School when I was growing up. Many still remember Cantor Levin as "Santa Claus". My sister has a photo of her children when they were younger with Cantor Levin playing Santa Claus. My husband and I will be praying for the LORD to comfort Cantor Levin's sweet and loving wife Agnes, and their children and grandchildren as they mourn the loss of their wonderful husband, father and grandfather. Cantor Levin will greatly be missed by many. May his memory be for a blessing.

Jeff and I were so sorry to hear of Cantor Levin's passing. I will always remember his gentleness and kind spirit. As a World War II veteran and liberator, he graciously agreed to be interviewed as part of my Holocaust sabbatical project in July 2006. Since that time I have felt a special bond. May the memory of his sweet spirit strengthen all those who loved him.
