To Josephine and everyone that James loved, his family and friends, I send my affection at this time, knowing that it may not comfort you, but at least have you knowing that there were many that James touched, that remember him and his smile and his wit and his gentle nature, which will last forever inside us. I have wonderful pictures that i have been looking at these past weeks. He is happy and smiling. I will remember him this way. I speak for all the Gateway family and former students who knew him, when i send deep condolences. I wish I had known about the local services. Much love to you at this sad time.

I work at Newfield High in Selden where James attended. James was a very friendly and intelligent student. He was a pleasure to converse with, always polite and interesting. I also used to see him at the gym where we worked out in Centereach. This is a terrible loss. I offer my heart felt condolences to his family. James was a wonderful young man. I'm very sorry for your loss.

Dear Josephine, Michael, & Family,
This Columbus Day Weekend marks a year since I last saw James; when you and I, Josephine went to Marshall's and he stopped by to meet you. James came right over and gave me a big hug, and I remarked how warm and sincere he was even though we've seen each other infrequently over the years. That memory stayed with me this past year and I will continue to carry it in my heart as I will say my Rosary for James and his family everyday.

Everyday not seeing gets harder and harder, the fact that we will not be staying up until 3am talking about life, relationships, and "just being yourself" has sunk in. I have sooooo many questions and i'm very scared that they will never get answered. Please just give me signs to let me know you are okay. Whenever i step foot into work (buffalo wild wings) i just feel like that Sunday morning will start all over and at 12:15am you will come walking in the door, giving everyone quarters for gum balls; but deep down i know thats not gonna happen. I just want you to know that i'm so glad we got so close and i want you to know from the bottom of my heart that i love you forever and always!!!! <3 Thank you for always being there for me!!!

Dear Josie & Family
I'm so sorry for your loss and what your going through right now. There are no words to say or write to comfort you in this time of loss. However James had a great talent of lighting up a room just like his brother and would always be kind and warm to people and outgoing as well. I'm still in shock as I write this. I hung out with him many times at the house before he moved to Virginia and got to know a bright & happy young man that loved his family and friends.And Josie you know as well as anyone when the tough times last a little longer & when the nights are a little darker James will be there with you and your whole family to get you threw it.

My heart bleeds, my heart aches, my heart is broken for you all. Although I had not known James for long, I loved him the instant I met him at Emily's birthday party. And she fell head over heels with him. Our lives have been touched by him and a day will never turn without us thinking of him. He was a wonderful young man, always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need,and I'll never forget the assistance he gave me last month. I cannot say enough things about him or how much my family cares and loves him and Mike. God bless you all.
