William Prather Obituary

William T. (Doot) Prather, 69, of Roanoke, Va., formerly of Goodview, Va., died Monday, November 2, 2009. He is preceded in death by his father, William Thurman Prather; and mother, Jenny Caroll Prather, of Goodview, Va. He is survived by Louise Prather, wife of 49 years; son, William (Buck) Prather, of Roanoke; daughter, Linda Secco, of Greensboro, N.C.; sister, Linda Williams Lyons, of Daleville, Va.; and many close relatives and special friends. He served his country proudly in the United States Air Force from 1957 to 1963 as Private First Class 960th Air Squadron and was Honorably Discharged. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. on Friday, November 6, 2009, at Oakey's North Chapel, 540-362-1237.
