Celia Eunson Obituary

Celia Wood Eunson, of Rural Retreat, Va., died on Sunday evening, November 22, 2009, at her home surrounded by family members. She was born in Opps, Pa., on March 30, 1919, to the late Daniel and Margaret Wood. She moved to Salem, Va., from Schenectady, N.Y., where she was active in the Salem Presbyterian Church and the Girl Scouts. She enjoyed gardening and sewing for her family. Celia was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Eunson; and is survived by her daughters and their families, Jean E. and Richard Amos of Bedford, Va., Peggy and Millard Williams, of Roanoke, Va., and Kady and Michael Cole, of Rural Retreat, Va.; eight grandchildren, Jennifer Amos, Rebecca and Derreck Sprouse, Jake and Heather Amos, Isaac and Sarah Williams, Robert and Lara Williams, Sally and Chris Coble, Nick and Meredith Cole, and Sarah Cole; nine great-grandchildren; her brother, Dan Wood, of Wapwallopen, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews also survive. A memorial service will be held 4 p.m. on Monday, November 30, 2009, at the Rural Retreat United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Brian C. Burch officiating. Friends may call any time at the home of Kady and Michael Cole. Cards may be sent to the family or a donation in Celia's name to the Salem Presbyterian Church or to the charity of one's choice. Lindsey Funeral Home, Rural Retreat, Va., is in charge of arrangements.
