John Ogle Obituary

John Lee Ogle Jr., 65, Captain United States Navy, Retired, of Plum Branch Road, Concord, Va., died on Wednesday, November 18, 2009, in Virginia Baptist Hospital. Born in Phoenix, Ariz., on October 19, 1944, he was a son of the late Gertrude Elizabeth Deter Ogle and John L. Ogle Sr. He was a pilot in the U.S. Navy serving from the Vietnam era until his retirement during the Persian Gulf era. John received his BA in political science from St. Andrews Presbyterian College in Laurinburg, N.C. He is survived by his two sons, John L. Ogle III, of Gansevoort, N.Y., and Thomas M. Ogle, of Chesapeake, Va.; a brother, David Ogle, M.D., of Gresham, Ore.; two sisters, Margaret Rowe, of Santa Rosa, Calif., and Ellen Grover, of Lancaster, Va.; the mother of his children, Cam Ogle, of Knoxville, Tenn.; and life long friend, Jim Henderson and family. A memorial service will be held at noon on December 12, 2009, at the Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek Chapel, 1160 D Street, Gate 5, Norfolk. Johnny Johnny you've been gone so long. I've missed you. It was hard to say "no".

John was many thing to me, my boss, my turkey hunting mentor, my best friend, and of course the best cook I ever knew, it always took some time to get served but was always well worth to wait. You will be surley missed my friend.
