Edith Mullins Sarver

Edith Mullins Sarver, passed away on November 27, 2009 in Wilmington, N.C. She was born November 2, 1924, in Roanoke, where she spent most of her life. She moved to Wilmington in 2003. Mrs. Sarver was predeceased by her husband Clovis, her sons, Joe and Steve and her great-granddaughter, Hannah DeHass; brothers, Ewell, G.E. "Ert", Glenn "Moon", and David Mullins; sister, Christine Hoover. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Gary Chenault of Williamsburg, Va.; her daughter, Toni Hales of Wilmington, N.C.; her son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Linda Sarver of Roanoke; her daughter-in-law, Pat Sarver of Richmond, Va.; and her daughter-in-law, Bev Sarver of Cary, N.C. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Lea Chenault, Wayne Chenault and wife, Maya, Suzy McWard and husband Bob, Amy Diggs and husband Johnny, Greg Hales and wife Suzanne, Stephanie DeHass and husband Danny, Leslie Nobles and husband Paul, Allison Jordan and husband Matt, Scott Sarver and wife Lisa, Keith Sarver and wife Terri, Sarah Daggett and husband Matt, Emily Sarver, Rebecca Apple and husband Seth, Natalie Morreale and husband John; twenty-three great-grandchildren, Bobby, Eli and Will McWard, Chloe Chenault, Rachel and Kevin Darden, Sharon and Andrew Diggs, Allan and Tyler Hales, Beau, Logan and Brady DeHass, Nathan and Jarrett Nobles, Ben, Callie and Caleb Jordan, Lindsey, Rebecca, Kayleen, Daniel and Kenna Sarver; her two sisters, Ruth Beard and Barbara Poff both of Roanoke and many nieces and nephews. Her faith and her family were her greatest joys. She lived her faith and was an inspiration to everyone who knew her. Mrs. Sarver was a long-time member of Airlee Court Baptist Church. There will be visitation at Oakey's North Chapel, Sunday 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Services will be at noon on Monday at the chapel. Interment will follow the services at Sherwood Memorial Park.
