I have great respect for Gene and will miss my friend dearly. Living across the street from us, Gene and I became mailbox friends. We would often see each other and catch up on the concerns of our life at the edge of the driveway. He was always kind to our dog Blaze and Gene would often give him attention. It broke my heart to see Blaze camped out on Gene's driveway Sunday, hoping for his daily pat or scratch on the head. Gene always watched our home for us, letting us know when we left a light on in the crawl space, or alerting us to an overdue car inspection. I will miss his concern and advice.

Genny, Kathy and Shawn... we hurt with you for your loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. We will be checking in on you.

Love, Reid and Rhonda Davis
